On Cost-Efficient Translations

The cost of translations is a strange thing:

Many clients are fully focused on the price-per-word for their translation job, and knowing quite well that an hourly rate is hypothetical. The price-per-word, however, is just as unclear, if not in pricing, then definately in quality; a less experienced translator takes a lot longer to get the job done, making less per hour, and the quality ends up paying the price.

Our translators have the experience, the tools to do the job right, and the knowledge to use these to the full effect.

Whenever possible, we use translation memory software like Trados etc.*, helping to ensure the consistency between various jobs from the same client - and keeping prices down...

* please note; translation memory software is software designed to remember previously used phrases in the same jobs, or previous jobs for the same client, and has absolutely nothing to do with the free translation tools performing fully automatic "machine translations" - these are fine for getting a general idea about the content of a small text, but absolutely useless for serious purposes.
